The Social Housing Accelerator Program is a $2 billion Federal Government initiative aimed at delivering thousands of new and refurbished public homes across Australia.

Delivered in June 2023, the Social Housing Accelerator payment enables the states and territories to build 4,000 homes across the country to increase the supply of public homes for Australians on social and public housing waiting lists.

The Social Housing Accelerator Program is providing a minimum $136.8 million in funding for South Australia, which is being used to deliver public and community housing projects.

This includes a mix of new builds and renovated existing housing stock, with some projects wholly funded by the State Government and others delivered in partnership with community housing providers.
